Textile works for the auditorium, the nursing home BLOMSTERÄNGEN,
in Hallsberg.
Commissioned by Länsgården Fastighetsbolag AB/Region Örebro län 2023.
The inspiration came from the nature around the nursing home BLOMSTERÄNGEN in Hallsberg. The chosen material, plant-dyed textile with natural colour, will give the room a pleasant and warm feeling. The work is inspired by old gnarled oaks, flowers, and insects in the local area.
The work consists of three parts:
A drapery at the back of the stage consists of 11 parts hand-woven with plant-dyed wool yarns. 2.8m(H) x 7m(W)
A striped tapestry hangs on the side wall, hand-woven with plant-dyed wool yarns. 2.8m(H) x 0.9m(W)
The opposite side of the striped tapestry wall spreads 17 circle panels. They are tempera-painted or embroidered surfaces with the motif of trees, leaves, insects and acorns. Ø 20 - 38 cm

... The textile work is solid and well done. The solidly worked material has good durability and ages beautifully over time. The proposal will give a beautiful impression with an aesthetic value without competing with the room's function as an auditorium. The work will also act as a sound absorber and create an excellent acoustic environment. The solidly worked material has good durability and ages beautifully over time.
