Reflection

Textile work for the restaurant at the Svea Court of Appeal/Wrangelska Palace onĀ
Riddarholmen in Stockholm
Commissioned by the Swedish Arts Council. 2004
The work consists of a hand-woven fabric and two panels with embroidered sequins.
The fabric hangs from a round stand placed around a pillar in the ceiling. The fabric is woven in straight but when it hangs, it becomes wavy shapes that fall naturally with its own weight and casting shadows on the ceiling and wall.
The sequin panels reflect the light coming in from the window, shifting in time and space.
For both works, sound-absorbing panels were hidden above the fabric and behind the panels. This muffles the sound and absorbs the noise.
